Guitar Hero for DS buttons are Add-ons?

Photobucket

Here's a news that I got from getting information for the upcoming game Guitar Hero: On Tour. Vicarious Visions, the developer for the said game for the DS has mentioned they tackled lots of challenges before coming up with the game.

Obvious reasons is the DS itself. Too keep to the DS being compact, they rejected the fact of making the peripheral look like a guitar fretboard. That means, no guitar sized thingy.

The most interesting thing I found was about Vicarious Visions asking for permission to add buttons instead of mapping together with the buttons available on the DS. That means the buttons that is shipped with Guitar Hero are additional buttons for the DS.

Very interesting sales strategy.

DS going Retro. Gameboy and NES Controller is BACK!

I told everyone already that retro gaming is here to stay. I always like stuff that comes out from the retro days of Nintendo. This is no exception! I like this thing alot! Some cool people made something very cool for the Nintendo DS. Retro Nintendo Pouch!

It's somewhat pricey from where I came from though but it's worth the purchase. USD$13 for either one of 'em or USD$21 for both. Interested? You can get these through this person.

Care to buy me one?

Via Technabob.

LOL. Seriously it's LOL.

Now this is a game that you might just say "You're paying for Pictochat?!" or some case just "LOL".

Why do I say this? Well, first of all this game is a MULTIPLAYER GAME only game. Which means you need to bring your DS buddies to have some fun with this thing. Heh, I can see instant fail unless they do last minute changes.

I was surfing for Nintendo DS news when I stumbled into this.

Guitar Hero : On Tour Making Deal

Should I grab it? Maybe I just leave this? The Guitar Hero franchise reached the DS and making a deal to their fans. Especially those who already owned a DS. I'm sure some of you want this thing on your hands on the day of the release, then this is your chance to get one!

Can't Get Korg DS-10? There's GROOVESTEP!

I mentioned about the upcoming coolness of the KORG DS-10 few post back. You know, the new portable synthesizer where you can make music where ever you go? Some of us might think that this thing will be one hell of a purchase. Look no further as homebrewers will save the day! (and your money. Actually I know you all like free stuff.)

April 7, 2008 - GrooveStep Digital Music Studio is a revolutionary ultra portable music making application for the Nintendo DS. GrooveStep features an easy to use step sequencer for pattern based music making. You can make beats, melodies and full songs with GrooveStep.

That's right. A rival that gives you free. Not as fancy looking but from the looks of it, it nearly resembles the KORG DS-10 functionality. Whatever it is, I'm surely want to try this when it's out.

Ninja Gaiden Dragon Sword Review by The DS Lite

I finally finished the game a few days ago. All was worth it. The trouble, the arm cramping. EVERYTHING. Team Ninja delivered a great game for the Nintendo DS and set a standard for other games.

For a game that fully rely on stylus, it was fun. The game was action packed. Being Ryu Hayabusa is not easy. The last boss was annoying. All in all, you feel great once you finished the game. Ninja Gaiden Dragon Sword is a must get for the DS.

Korg DS-10 - Music Making Goes Portable

Forget other music making thingy for the DS. Jam Sessions is gone. Electroplankton can be burn down. Behold the next new thing! The Korg DS-10! Now you can make music as you go. Just look at that video and how amazing that thing is!

Sources say it will be a worldwide release. Now to know when.

More on the Trauma Center Sequel for the DS

Looks like the game looks totally different from the first. Characters looks more mature and serious. We know from the first Trauma Center that patient comes in and "surgery happens", perform surgery because they need to be.

Now it has a proper storyline. At least it say so.

Photobucket

This time Dr. Derek Stiles and Angie Thompson now stuck in an African country called Costiga. Basically its where civil war and disease outbreak leads to more patients and less doctors. You know how that goes.

Here some screenshots taken from famitsu.com

Dokapon - Dungeon Crawlers + Pokemon-style Combat.

Dokapon Journey! Nakayoku Kenkashite (Make Friends and Fight!) is a weird game but a cool concept.

You earn money by defeating monsters around town but thats not all! Players has to compete against each other to earn more money. What's crazy about this game is that they can also fight each other to steal their loot. It's hilariously labeled as the "friendship-destroying game" and I can't wait how destructive this game be.

Addition on the DS will have extra minigames to earn money.

Summon Night to the DS!

Photobucket

Summon Night was a Sony Playstation (PS) title is next in line to be in the DS. I've played some games that was from the PS ported to the DS like Front Mission which it make use the power of the touchscreen.

Photobucket

Looking at the trailer, it looks like a game worth to grab. The game mostly rely on the DS touchscreen to do most of the task.

Summon Night stands out as those nice-looking ARPG despite being just in 2D. Looking at the screenshot, it's nicely done. Total eye candy! Hey, you don't need great graphics, you just need a good looking game!

Photobucket

I can't wait for it to release and try it out.

Dr. Stiles will be back for the DS! Trauma Center: Under The Knife 2.

Photobucket

There's a rumour that Trauma Center will have a sequel for the DS. It's good news for the fans of this game. Judging from my experience with the game, I hope it won't be as annoying to finish.

Dr. Derek Stiles will be back together with Nurse Angie Thompson to tackle new sickness and more answers for the GUILT virus. Atlus announce that they will improve the instruments and tackle the difficulty as most complained.

I'm pissed on the Triti as well. Too HARD!

Nintendo forces R4 off the shelves

We know the wonders of R4. We know the potential what R4 can do. But some of us will take advantage of this. Homebrews to ROMs online.

Photobucket

In Akihabara (or Akiba, as the locals called it) in Japan, Nintendo has been pressuring shops to stop selling R4 carts, or at least remove it from their premises. If they don't, Nintendo will stop providing products to them. I think Nintendo should start changing strategies.

I'm on neutral on this one. I'm not an honest person anyways to bang this kind of topic anyways. This will not be an easy task for Nintendo. Hey, people will eventually pirate stuffs anyways in the end.
